LSMS is Moving

We begin this Fall season at The Lake Shore Music Studio with a new challenge. After 20 years in our home on Dayton and Armitage, our building owners have plans that don't include us, nor our neighbors, Heads or Nails hair salon, and the Coffee and Tea Exchange. While this is certainly a disappointment to have to leave what has been such a pleasant home to us, we are excited about the possibility of creating a new studio home and the creative energy that change brings. We welcome the input of students, parents and friends, regarding the form and shape our studio should take, and any possible sites.

IMPORTANT FALL DATES

Enclosed is the Fall term calendar. Please take a moment to transfer important dates to your family calendar, so you'll be sure to be free to attend these studio events.

WELCOME NEW STUDENTS

We extend a warm welcome to new students Colin Coelho, Benji Daniels (Emma's little brother), William Fieber (Lawrence's brother), Luke Sangerman, MacKenzie Gleason, Shaina Toulabi (Shannon's little sister), Lillie Eiger, and Katherine McCrory. Thanks to Sebastian Radloff, the Ansorge family, and former student Jamie Solock's mother, Maurine, for passing the word about our programs. Referrals from parents and students are our best publicity, and we appreciate all of the ways our students and friends spread the news about our programs at the Lake Shore Music Studio.

VISITING WEEK

Our first visiting week for the Fall Semester will be October 23-28. Parents and friends are invited to visit your children's classes to see our learning processes in action. Students look forward to these days.

ISMTA Convention

Julie will participate with 5 other members, in a Technology Symposium for members of the Chicago Area Music Teachers Association, November 10, at Roosevelt University. Edith continues her role as pianist at the Apostolic Church of God. This summer she attended a conference in Cincinnati with the choir. The musicians are deep in rehearsal for the Christmas Concert, scheduled for December 9 at the church. This concert, open to the public, will be televised for viewing on Christmas day.

Dr. Robert Pace Coming to Chicago in June

We are very excited that Dr. Robert Pace (the author of our studio's method) will be the clinician for Chicago Area Music Teachers Association's annual workshop, Saturday, June 16, 2001 at the Harold Washington Library.

Dr. Pace is a graduate of Julliard and was a member of President Kennedy's team to study music education in America in the 60's. This is a great opportunity for you to meet and hear first hand the person who is the cornerstone of our studio's philosophy. LSMS students and parents are invited to attend for a special price of $15 per person.
